Sunday was incredible! I look forward to seeing your children and worshiping with them each Sunday. I’m AMAZED at what God is doing. Our elementary students finished a series on Jesus being the Good Shepherd. Their last memory verse for January is:
“The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” John 10:11
Our leaders shared that God loves us so much but sin separates us from Him. Having a relationship with God is as easy as A-B-C:
Admit that you’re a sinner, Believe in Jesus and that he died for us, and Confess your sins and Choose Jesus as your friend forever! ABC’s! Many of our children made the choice for Jesus to be their forever friend. This pumps me up and yet HUMBLES me at the same time. I’m so humbled that God has His hand on Graystone Church and all of our kids and students. Pray for these children as they begin their new journey as a Christian. I thought on my way home yesterday that one day I will be praising God for all eternity with these children!
The ABCs are easy tools for you as a parent to share Jesus with your children. I’ve met and talked with many parents who just weren’t sure how to lead their child to Christ. There is no right or wrong way but the ABC’s make it easier and children seem to grasp it! There is nothing sweeter then seeing your child accept Jesus. Leslie Mitchem, one of our All Stars volunteers, had her son Caleb in her small group yesterday morning. As she shared with the children about Jesus, her son asked Jesus in his heart. We both cried!
Our 2 year olds through SuperKids learned about Samuel. Just like Samuel was special to God, so are we! I loved this post on Facebook from Angela Valenzuela about her son – “Gabriel pretty much recited his entire SuperKids lesson today and ended with ‘You may not believe this, but the Lord does speak to people. He told Samuel he was special, and I’m special too.'”
The memory verse for the month of January was “Let the little children come to me.” Luke 18:16
It was a good day. I can’t wait to see what God does next at Graystone in the hearts of our kids, families, and volunteers!
