Loving Others

As we celebrate Love today, I can’t help but get excited about our children’s ministry at Graystone! This month all Graystone Kids are learning about love. They are learning about the type of love that Jesus has for us and how to love others the way Jesus does. We are laying the foundation for the right kind of love now that can truly affect their marriages, friendships, and families later in life.

All Stars learned that “everyone can make a mistake, that’s why love gives people a break.” There memory verse is:

1 Corinthians 13:5 “Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs that have been done”

Ask your children this week about how they can not be selfish and rude to friends. How many times can we express love instead of getting upset? Love is hard sometimes, isn’t it? However, I think about my own life and how God’s love has radically changed me. Image how loving others God’s way can bring us closer to him!

I hope all of our parents enjoyed their Valentine’s craft from our SuperKids and 2 and 3 year olds. We had fun making hearts with our thumbs and little heart boys and girls! Our preschool kids learned that Jesus loves us so much and he desires to spend time with us. Our memory verse for the month is:

“Love each other as I have loved you” John 15:12

Ask your child if they can recite their memory verse. We’ve been working hard learning them in class. Also, at each class, there is information about what your child learns each Sunday. Be sure to take one so you can take advantage of everyday moments at the park, in the bathtub, or in the car!

Have a great week!

Children's Small Group. I wish I had videoed this but it's our 2nd and 3rd grade boys pretending to be a rollercoaster. Picture doesn't do it justice!
