Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend with our Graystone Kids and families. We had our first Family Fun Night Ultimate Challenge on Saturday and I must say I laughed the entire night. We had an entertaining time with families and I’ll share pictures with you soon about the night.

On Sunday, our preschoolers learned how four men carried a paralyzed man to Jesus. There were so many people they could not get to Jesus, so they lower him through the roof on a mat. Jesus healed the man and told him to take his mat and go home. The story came from Mark 12:1-12. We reminded our kids that Jesus is our helper.

How do you apply this lesson to home? During bath time this week, ask you child to point to his eyes, ears, mouth, feet, legs, arms and so on. When you are finished naming several parts of the body, tell your child that Jesus helps people to see with their eyes, hear with their ears, talk with their mouth and walk with their legs. Jesus can do anything!

Don’t forget that the memory verse for the month is “He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7.

All Stars talked about using our feet to tell others about Jesus. Putting on our shoes helps us prepare for battle and gives us courage to tell others about Jesus. Our 3rd-5th graders actually traced their feet and wrote someone on their drawing that they could tell Jesus about. Join me to pray for our kids to dominate the community with the love of Christ by sharing Jesus with their friends. We only have two more Sundays of Bible Boot Camp so I hope your child will attend. The memory verse  for this week is “…and with your feet fitted for the with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” Ephesians 6:15.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Thanks for all you do Katie! And thanks to all the volunteers who serve too! My sweet Kaylee was telling me how she loved me on Saturday evening, but then said that she loved God more. She said, “You know mama, you are supposed to love God more than anything else!” Thanks for reenforcing what is taught at home! Graystone is such a blessing to our family!
